Kindergarten Policies & Forms

As a Lady Gowrie Qld affiliated Kindergarten, we adopt and follow their policies which are continually reviewed by Lady Gowrie Qld. These policies are available at the office for parents to peruse upon request.

PICKING UP YOUR CHILD

If you require some one else to pick up your child, please ensure you have them listed as a nominee on your XAP account with pickup authorisation. This will enable them to to have a code to sign out your child. If you require any assistance please speak to our staff.

INFECTIOUS DISEASE

Kindy is not the place your child wants to be when they are unwell.

Please contact Vera Lacaze and inform us of any infectious illness your child may have contracted so that we can inform other caregivers. Your information will be kept confidential.

It is always better to check with a health care professional on when your child can resume Kindy.

ABSENCE THROUGH ILLNESS

It is recommended that you refrain from visiting the centre with your child or their siblings when they are not in good health.

ALLERGY NOTIFICIATION

It is the parent's responsibility to notify the centre of any allergies their child is at risk of.

Parents must provide the centre with a written and current independent medical report that outlines the child's medical condition, the recommended treatment able to be provided by Vera Lacaze staff and any other matters deemed relevant (including an Anaphylaxis Action Plan).

IMMUNISATION POLICY

Prior to enrolment and attendance at Vera Lacaze Memorial Community Kindergarten, parents are required to provide an immunisation history statement stating that their child's immunisation is 'up to date' (and an updated statement when their child passes future vaccination milestones if applicable).

Children who are on an approved immunisation catch-up schedule developed by a recognised immunisation provider are also considered 'up to date'.

Parents who choose to not vaccinate their children are required to complete a Conscientious Objection to Immunisation form within XAP.

CHILD SAFETY AND PROTECTION

(Child Safeguarding Prevention and Considerations Policy)

The safety of children is our paramount consideration, and we advocate for the rights of every child. Our approach to child safeguarding seeks to protect children from harm through Child Safe Practices and Child Protection Obligations. We ensure that all staff are trained in Mandatory Child Safe Practices and exercise their duty of care for children attending our kindy. Active supervision is of the utmost priority and our environments and equipment are maintained or improved to ensure children can learn and play in child-safe environments.
