Our Team

Judy first experienced Vera Lacaze from a parent’s perspective with all 3 of her boys attending kindergarten and preschool. Judy began working as a special needs assistant at our kindergarten then as a teaching assistant at Vera Lacaze for more than 10 years.  After being surrounded by many inspiring mentors in the Early Education setting, Judy decided to further her career in this area and has since completed two Bachelor degrees in Early Childhood and Education.  Judy is excited to be part of the teaching team at Vera Lacaze after her long association with the kindergarten.  Judy loves her role as Teacher in the Callistemon Room and is supported by her teaching assistant, Theresa.

Judy is also well equiped in her role as our Educational Leader.

Kristy has enjoyed being part of the Vera Lacaze Community since 2004 where she taught in the Callistemon room with Judy for 10 years. She left in 2014 to welcome the first of her 3 boys into her family. Since this time, she has had the wonderful experience of returning to kindy as a parent. In 2020, Kristy re-commenced her teacher career as Teacher for  our Cassia A group alongside her Teaching Assistant, Tamara.

After receiving her Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) in 1996, Angela has taught across many early childhood settings, including community kindergartens and preschools, state and private school and kindergarten.

All three of her children experienced kindy at Vera Lacaze, and she was active on the parent committee during this time.  She has maintained her connection to Vera Lacaze through photographing artists working with the children during arts projects , and class photos.

Angela is excited to be working alongside Jenica with our Cassia B Kindy children.

Tamara was introduced to the Vera Lacaze community as a relief Teaching Assistant in 2016. She previously worked as an Early Childhood Educator and Director within the Childcare sector for 5 years before moving to Warwick to coordinate and supervise the Family Day Care scheme. Tamara returned to Toowoomba with her husband and 3 children and is thrilled to be the teaching assistant in the Cassia Room with Kristy. Tamara adds to the amazing team that we have at Vera Lacaze much to the benefit of her colleagues and our families.

Theresa’s first experience with Vera Lacaze was from a parent’s point of view.  Theresa’s children have all attended Vera Lacaze.  Theresa started off as one of our regular relief teaching assistants. Theresa has previously worked as a Lead Educator in a Child Care Centre and has done some casual work as a Teacher-Aide.  Vera Lacaze is lucky to have Theresa share her expertise working with both Judy and Julie in the Callistemon room as teaching assistant.

Leah’s first experience with Vera Lacaze was from a parent’s perspective with her son attending Kindergarten.  She completed her practical work experience for her Certificate III in Children’s Services at Vera Lacaze and has been a member of staff since then.  Leah has added experience and valuable skills to the team and we are thrilled she continues to be on our team.

Jenica joined the Vera Lacaze community in 2017 as a parent and has since had both her children come through the Kindy.

Returning to work after a few years of being a 'mum' she is very excited to be able to continue to be a part of this wonderful community.

Jenica started her childcare career in South Africa as an Early Childhood teacher and since moving to Australia has gained many years experience as an assistant.

Jenica works with Angela in our Cassia B Kindy group adding her expertise to this teaching team.

Janet has been a parent of Vera Lacaze when her son attended Kindergarten and Preschool previous to her employment.  Janet has been employed as a casual office worker at Vera Lacaze for 15 years. She is our master of maths and keeps the book-keeping in spectacular order.  If you have questions regarding your fees or your invoices, Janet is our ‘go to’ lady.  Janet’s work days are Monday and Thursday.
